Background
Founded in November 2021, our journey began in response to the inadequate healthcare services in Kwale County—driven by a shortage of health workers and essential medical supplies—with a vision to pave the way toward a healthier future.
Since then, our first clinic has begun operation in Godo, Kenya, as we partner with another non-profit that has built a primary school and church there prior to our clinic opening. By partnering with local community leaders in Godo, a small village inside the Kenyan border with Tanzania, we are able to see patients and increase their quality of life, with access to healthcare.
Starting with Godo, Kenya, we hope to expand our services to other villages in Kenya, and then to the world.
Vision
We envision countries internationally, where all individuals in need, regardless of their background, are able to have equal access to quality healthcare. We seek to address the geographical barriers that stop rural and remote communities from getting the healthcare they need.
Mission
Our mission is to continue Jesus's legacy of healing by providing medical care to underserved people groups abroad through the technology of telemedicine.
Founder Story
The founder of Virtual Medical Missions, Tiffany Periano, has carried a passion for medical missions since childhood. In college, she began serving in the Dominican Republic every summer, planting the seeds for a lifelong calling.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Statistics from the University of California, Riverside, and went on to complete her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Western University of Health Sciences in 2013. Since then, she has served in a private pulmonary and internal medicine practice in Southern California, caring for patients with complex medical needs in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, her practice launched a telemedicine clinic to meet patients where they were. It was in that season that Tiffany recognized telemedicine's incredible potential to deliver quality healthcare to anyone, anywhere. This insight reignited her passion for medical missions—this time, with a vision to leverage technology to bring care to underserved communities across the globe.
Fueled by the love of Jesus, Tiffany's mission is to help people live healthy lives and experience healing in His name, equipping them with the tools and resources they need—both medically and spiritually.
